Indications/Uses
Bronchitis & other resp conditions as an aid to expectoration.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 8-16 mg tds or qds. Childn 5-10 yr 4 mg qds; 2-5 yr 4 mg bd.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Gastric ulceration. Stevens-Johnson's syndrome & toxic epidermal necrolysis. Discontinue use if new skin or mucosal lesions occur. Should not be used in women of childbearing potential, during early pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI side effects & a transient rise in serum amino-transferase values.
Drug Interactions
May enhance the penetration of erythromycin into bronchial secretions.
